In 1911 a Swiss psychiatrist, Eugene Bleur started using the term. In 1940 researchers in the U.S. used the term to describe children with emotional or social problems. Autism and Schizophrenia were linked up until the 1960’s. Autism has to deal with the mind. Autism affects regions of the brain that have to do with social interaction, communication, and reasoning. Government study showed that children with autism had problems with complex tasks. This suggests that different parts of the autistic brain have difficulty working together to process complex information. Autism doesn’t really affect the body physically. It’s more internally like your nervous system. A symptom of autism is the inability to communicate. Difficulty interpreting body language and holding conversations.
